DOWN A CAROLINA ROAD

The girl is quilting again!

Another stage of the quilt - now the sashing has been added between each of the rows - getting closer to the final product! If you viewed the blog earlier you saw each of these individual rows laid out ready to be joined with the seam sashing - so here it is with the sashing!  First time I have ever tried this technique and I think I like connecting already quilted rows. Remember - if you are interested in the upcoming quilting classes - be sure to email me at lisacarol99@gmail.com
And do not forget to subscribe to this blog by email - it's easy - just click on the link and follow the simple steps.
Here it is with the sashing strips attached to each row and I have to say I just simply love this quilt! It was hard work making one this large but I think we will enjoy it for a long time!
Here it is on our bed - to check the size.  I have decided to add a border on all four sides the width of the individual rows in the muslin fabric quilted and ready to attach - so look for those pictures soon on the next blog.  This will make the quilt big enough to totally cover the king size bed which will make my sweet husband so happy!
Here is a pic of the back side - you see the rows are joined "raw" on this side - so some hand stitching with a row of strip of sashing will be needed.  I do NOT like hand stitching but this quilt is so huge it will be difficult to roll up and sew these strips on the sewing machine.  This quilt has a few minor imperfections but I LOVE it!
