DOWN A CAROLINA ROAD

The quilting class was so much fun today!  Thank you to the ladies that came out and joined in on the fun!  Here are a few pictures to share.   We are planning another one in March so stay tuned for more details!  The class got a really good start on learning how to cut fabric with a rotary cutter and cutting mat.  Then they sewed their strips together, then we cut the pattern, then we began to sew the rows together to make the rail pattern.  Next class when they return with their finished laptop we will begin to make the "quilt sandwich".

If you would like to join us you can still join in on this process as I will help you get started on this pattern and help them learn how to put their quilt together.  Come join us!

All proceeds from these classes go to designated mission funds at Red Oak Christian Church - so you get to learn something new, have fun and help a good cause.  We would love to have you!

From left to right:  Shannon, Lisa A, Karen, Amber, Lisa J, Dianne, Aubrey, and Stephanie.  My assistant Suzanne was taking the photo.

Karen and her daughter in law Amber are cutting their fabric on the cutting mat. Dianne is on her way to get her fabric cut too.

Shannon was the one that had never sewed before but was rocking that sewing machine and did very well!
Shannon cutting some more fabric and Dianne is sewing some of her granddaughter's strips together for
 her quilt.

This is how Aubrey's quilt was beginning to shape up - awesome fabrics - fun and cool!

Stephanie did great with picking fabrics - this is going to be beautiful!
Stephanie has the pattern figured out!  In the background you can see this pattern (over her shoulder) on a finished laptop - this is what their finished product will look like when they complete the rest at home.
